COFFRET SHOAH

A unique life experience for the film viewer, Shoah (regularly ranked among the 100 best films in the history of cinema) recounts the extermination of six million Jews during the Second World War and gave its name to the event itself: the Shoah. Inscribed on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register, this titanic work, lasting nearly nine and a half hours, is the result of a dozen years of research. Rather than resorting to archival footage, director Claude Lanzmann chooses to give the floor to witnesses of the extermination centers – survivors, perpetrators, neighbors – to manage to recount the unspeakable genocide of the Jews of Europe by the Nazis during the Second World War. An essential historical and memorial work.
